The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait symbolizing Britain as a lady holding the trident of Neptune in her right hand and a shield as well ass an olive branch in her left hand. The background of the portrait has a beautiful and intricate design. Near the left of the portrait the word “BRITANNIA” can be seen along with the year the coin was minted. Along the right hand side the letters read "999.9 FINE GOLD" the four nines indicate the purity of gold in the coin, which is 99.9%. 

The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Letters along the perimeter of the coin read: “ELIZABETH II . D . G . REG . F . D . 10 POUNDS . “
